Two fails

after owning two Maytag dishwashers in approximately four years, I™€™ve reached the point where I simply cannot justify spending money on another Maytag appliance. My previous dishwasher was a higher-end Maytag model that failed because of a control board issue. When I replaced it, I actually stayed with Maytag, but deliberately moved to a less expensive, simpler model because I hoped it might prove more reliable. That dishwasher, is now approximately one year old and is already experiencing another apparent control/electronics failure. The controls become completely unresponsive. Disconnecting power temporarily restores operation, but the problem returns. So in roughly four years, I have purchased two Maytag dishwashers and experienced control-related failures with both of them. After the first failure, I gave Maytag another chance. I even changed models and price points. The second machine has now given me essentially the same reason not to trust it. There is simply no evidence from my experience that spending money on another Maytag dishwasher would be a sensible decision. Replacing this machine with another Maytag would mean trusting that the third dishwasher will somehow be more reliable than the first two, and your response to this failure has given me no reason to take that gamble. Maytag has built much of its reputation around dependability. My experience has been the opposite: two dishwashers, two control-related failures, approximately four years.

After 20 months this dishwasher had 2 repairs The motor and the bottom air that distributes water to the dishes It needs a 3rd repair , it stopped drying. But after 4 phone call that included speaking to over 18 people Maytag points to D&G for the warranty repair. Domestic and General stand on we can repair it after it is removed from underneath counter to access it. 5 year Warranty should say to move it and we will repair it

Short life span!

Suddenly stopped working within 2 years! I don't feel the life span should be this short. The dishwasher will not turn on from the panel. It suddenly starts running on its own without me running it; it's so annoying i had to disconnect it. I tried all the troubleshooting and it did not work.

Have had this dishwasher for a year and a few months, worked well at first, but now it doesn't finish a cycle and doesn't dry dishes. Turns on all by its self and runs a rinse cycle. Have reset machine hasn't made a difference.

I bought this dishwasher from Home Depot and had it delivered and professional installed. The dishwasher was delivered and installed without the insulation blanket. Dishwasher is extremely loud during a wash. We are scheduled to get a replacement dishwasher on 3/2. Hopefully, that will be installed correctly and function quieter. We would like to upgrade to a different Maytag model but Home Depot will not allow us to change the model number on the replacement.

The dishwasher itself works great. However we had such a hard time hooking the water hose up without leaks. Every time we thought we got it figured out it eventually started leaking again and now a portion of our kitchen flooring is warped. I think the hose connector should be metal instead of plastic.

I wish this product would have given me a heads up on the connector needed for the water line. Had to run back to the store to pick up the connect. As for the dishwasher itself, there are many of times on the bottom shelf if you don't tip your bowls or mugs, they don't come clean, but the drying cycle works great, and I just use the short version.

In this first year, I have had to have a pump replaced, because the dishwasher didn't drain. A few months later, the computer panel had to be replaced, because again, there was a problem with the dishwasher starting & stopping, so it took hours longer to get through a load. This is not what I expected, and not acceptable. I have purchased other Maytag products, and never had a problem, but this one was just a bit much!

DOES NOT CLEAN, DOES NOT DRY - DO NOT BUY!

We bought this dishwasher a month and a half ago now. About a week or so after purchasing, the dishwasher was not working. We thought it couldn't be the new dishwasher, so proceeded to spend 300+ trying different things such as a new water line, new pipes under the sink, new valve for our water tank, and increased the water pressure. None fixed the issue. Finally we called Maytag and they said to go ahead and call a tech. They came and it was a part that was fried that was the issue in the new dishwasher. To Maytag's credit, they refunded the repair price in full. HOWEVER. I hate this dishwasher with a passion. IT DOES NOT CLEAN, IT DOES NOT DRY. Glasses are cleaner when I put them in then when I take them out. I have to prerinse absolutely everything, and still when unloading we have to inspect every item, because at least a handful of silverware has gunk on it, glasses have debris inside, and plates have residue (which I just got done unloading and scraping silverware - still have to do the top rack but stopping to do this review, will need to clean the glasses that I can clearly see gunk inside). I have never experienced this awful quality before, I would assume because they make it to save water - there is no power to it. It's probably just sprinkling water around. The no dry/fan to blow dry is awful. It's always wet when it's done and it's time to unload, even pressing the "long dry" button. And because it's still wet, we have noticed the dishwasher has a MILDEW, DANK smell. It is disgusting. We can't return to the store because there is only a 7 day return policy. I will never buy a dishwasher from these connected brands again. They are made too fast in the assembly line with cheap disposable parts. The repair man said he could bill Maytag directly for the part, which I believe I heard him say was over $250. So the bill not including that was $294. Terrible to say, you might be better off buying the same completely new replacement dishwasher than paying for a repair if Maytag chose to not cover it. We have records to show proof of purchase, receipts for repair bills, photos of unclean dishes. We won't get back all that money, $300+, lost into thinking it must be a fault somewhere else in other repairs, than the new dishwasher over a week old. Buyer beware of the quality at which companies are making these appliances.
